Seeach Sod holds meeting in London

A crowd of supporters of Seeach Sod gathered at the Pillar Hotel last Wednesday evening. At the first reception ever held in the UK, following similar functions in the USA, the gathering heard first-hand about the sacred task being carried out by the Seeach Sod organisation. The first to address the audience was CEO Rabbi Shimon Levy, who related the enormity of the task the organisation has accepted upon itself since its inception 45 years ago.

Hachnasass Sefer Torah celebrated Erev Chag!

Erev Shavuot. The energy of accepting the Torah was already in the air. People were getting ready for Kabalas Hatorah. It was perfect timing for Seeach Sod to teach its students what accepting a Torah really feels like….for real.

On Tuesday, June 7th, Seeach Sod experienced a true Simcha! One of its schools, Yeshivas Otzar Yerushalyim for boys, received a Sefer Torah donated by the Loewenstein family in the memory of their daughter Batsheva Unterman a"h who was killed in a terrorist attack in 2008. The Sefer Torah was given to Rivka and James Loewenstein by Ira Rennert, the renowned Baal Tzedaka from Los Angeles. Rav Aryeh  Stern, Chief Ashkenazi Rabbi of Jerusalem, who holds a long-lasting connection with Seeach Sod, helped the family choose the eternal home for this Torah…Seeach Sod.

The streets of Romema started filling up at 5:00 in the afternoon. Kids were holding small Torah's and treats, waiting for the grand Chuppah to escort the Sefer Torah through the streets of Jerusalem accompanied by music, lights and joy!

The surrounding neighborhood families, alongside staff and friends of Seeach Sod, gathered to join the procession while children held torches in the honor of the Torah. They walked from Rechov Tzvi towards Mem Gimmel St. where Yeshivas Otzar Yerushalayim is located.

Together with hundreds of participants, including distinguished guests,  there stood the Loewenstein family members who looked at this monumental day as a merit for their beloved Batsheva a"h.

People from the streets  joined the festive atmosphere and the courtyard filled up with more and more people celebrating with the Sefer Torah.

The following Thursday morning, the first laining (Torah reading) was held in the Yeshiva with the students, their teachers, CEO of Seeach Sod Rabbi Shimon Levy and Mr. James Loewenstein.

May the student's words stemming from the Torah scrolls lift the barriers of the coming of Geulah when all those who have been taken away from this world prematurely will reunite with their loved ones and when all special needs children will no longer struggle!
