The staff of the day-hab centers in Beit Shemesh recently had a professional development day, at which they heard from Oshrit Kamir (occupational therapist) and Chana Briskin (speech therapist), who offered group and individual instruction regarding how to provide the best service possible.

In another innovative initiative at Beit Metzudot to make the surroundings suit the needs of the student body, a communication board was recently posted in the courtyard to enable students to communicate even when relaxing and having fun.

Mazel Tov! Seeach Sod Opens 45th Residential Apartment in Jerusalem

Six delighted young women recently moved into a new residential apartment at 15 Sarei Yisrael street in Jerusalem. 

New Residence in Bnei Brak

A dedication ceremony was recently held at our newest residence for adults in Bnei Brak, on Bar Ilan Street. This is our second residence in the city. Six independent adults live in the apartment and work at our Bnei Brak vocational center.

All of Seeach Sod’s programs actively pursue continued professional training and outreach.

Personalized Attention

In response to a particularly difficult period for Racheli as a result of her sister’s illness, the staff produced a special recreational program to raise her spirits. They created a game for her iPad in which she matches the names of family members with their pictures. Racheli is thrilled!

 

Focus on Health

A group of adults in Seeach Sod’s day-hab program in Beit Shemesh have begun a new program to enhance their health and wellbeing – group walks around their neighborhood, accompanied by staff and our new physical therapist, Dror Vichter. After the group activity, the staff is given instructions regarding physical activity for the remainder of the week.
